Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Lourdes is a very special place in the south of France that many people travel to each year to experience the closeness of God and to offer service to one another. The shrine is where Bernadette recieved her vision of Mary and where she found the spring of blessed water.
Lourdes is a place of healing and many sick and elderly people travel there to recieve comfort and God's blessing. People will bath in the water, light candles, pray and make very close friendship.
Many young adults make this pilgrimage to asisst with those who need a bit of extra help. Without the helpers the sick and elderly pilgrims would not be to atttend. The experince is very special and the sort of trip that once you make you will want to attend year after year. The opportunity to experience faith in an unique way and to develop very close friends make this pilgrimage a highlight of the year.
